The Jordan School District Health and Wellness team is offering free mental health screening on Wednesday, October 19, between 3:30 and 7 p.m. The half-hour appointments will be virtual via Zoom and conducted by licensed professionals. Space is limited.

It was a morning assembly that brought big smiles to students, teachers, and staff alike at the new Oak Leaf Elementary School. With the help of Superintendent Anthony Godfrey, who played the part of Dumbledore from Harry Potter, the school announced its new mascot which is the owl. Everyone was very excited about becoming the Oak Leaf Owls!
“Earthwings,” an organization which provides educational programs for schools, brought a real live owl to mark the special occasion.
Students sang the new school song and the school colors were also unveiled: teal, navy and white.
We wish the Oak Leaf Owls a very successful and safe school year!

It was a day to remember for JATC South Welding Teacher Blair Jensen. Several hundred students, teachers, staff, community members and Blaire’s family were all on hand to help surprise Mr. Jensen with a $50,000 national teaching prize from Harbor Freight Tools for Schools. The prize recognizes excellence in skilled trades education. The Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers (JATC) trade program will receive $35,000 and Mr. Jensen will receive $15,000 of the $50,000 prize.
Congratulations, Blair Jensen! Keep up the great work inspiring students on the pathway to a great profession. We are proud of the work you do and the well-deserved national recognition.
