South Valley School Students Experience Winter Wonderland at “Festival of Trees”

The true spirit, magic, and joy of the holiday season came to life for some students and staff at the South Valley School. They took a field trip to the annual “Festival of Trees” where they experienced a winter wonderland of uniquely decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses, and much more. It was a fun and festive field trip with smiles shining brightly as students and staff stood in awe of the beautifully decorated trees, each one with a story to tell.

All funds raised at the “Festival of Trees” will support children at Primary Children’s Hospital. The event runs through Saturday, December 2.

Board of Education Celebrates Herriman High School Latinos in Action

Picture of Latinos in ActionMembers of the Herriman High School Latinos in Action led the Pledge of Allegiance at last night’s Board of Education meeting and celebrated their culture with a beautiful poem written by Darianna Faria, a Herriman High student. The poem expressed support for all students, encouraging those who have immigrated to the United States to never forget where they came from and to strive for a better world where all seek to understand one another. The poem went on to say all students who have immigrated from another country should be allowed to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Board members thanked the students for doing a great job representing Herriman High School and Latinos in Action.

Filled with Gratitude for Delicious Food Served Up in School Cafeterias for Thanksgiving

Thank you to all of Jordan School District’s hard-working Nutrition Services employees who served up a Thanksgiving feast with a side of smiles in honor of the holiday, like they did at Westvale Elementary School. You made Thanksgiving special for students, teachers, and staff this year and we are filled with gratitude for the delicious food you prepare each and every day.

Happy Thanksgiving from everyone in Jordan School District. We hope you have a happy, safe, and restful holiday surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones.

Golden Fields Elementary Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, Turkey Tunes, and Pretty Cool Parade

It was a day devoted to celebrating Thanksgiving in a big way at Golden Fields Elementary School. First, students dressed up for a fun turkey trot up and down the halls of the school. Then they took the stage and sang their little hearts out as part of a Turkey Tunes assembly. Finally, the students had more fun in their very own version of a Golden Fields’ Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Everyone hand-made balloon characters and creative themes to float down the halls as part of the parade.

We are thankful for all of the teachers and staff who helped to make the Golden Fields Thanksgiving celebration one to remember.

Happy Thanksgiving from Golden Fields Elementary School!

South Valley School Gym Turned into Turkey Bowling Alley for Thanksgiving Party Fun

There were lots of frozen turkeys taking a tumble down the gymnasium floor at the South Valley School. That’s because the gym was turned into a temporary turkey bowling alley for the school’s Thanksgiving party. The party was complete with music from a DJ and students doing the “Strike Dance” and the “Spare Dance.” They all cheered each other on in the bowling event and made fun memories they will take to the Thanksgiving turkey table.

Happy Thanksgiving from students and staff at the South Valley School.
