Recognizing Hard Work of School Counselors During “National School Counseling Week”

High school counselors with gift bags.In honor of “National School Counseling Week” we want to send a sincere message of thanks to the hard-working school counselors throughout Jordan School District. They go above and beyond every single day and work incredibly hard supporting students in so many different ways. As a token of appreciation for all they do, JSD counselors were treated to Crumbl cookies and a small gift pack letting them know “We Think You Rock!”

We encourage you to drop by your counseling center and show your gratitude by offering a word of thanks to the counseling staff. School counselors are here to help students by preparing students for future careers, academic advising, help with social/emotional development, and ensuring today’s students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.

Thank you to all of our school counselors who are making a difference in the lives of Jordan School District students.

South Valley Students and Staff Have Lots of Fun on “Flying Around the World Day”

It was an exciting day for South Valley students traveling from Thailand to India, Samoa, and beyond, without leaving their school. During “Flying Around the World Day,” each classroom represented a different country, educating students about the culture and offering a taste of the region with food samples as well. The students traveled from country to country, visiting classrooms exploring the various country’s traditional colors, flags and clothing, giving them an opportunity to explore different cultures from around the world.

Staff played the role of pilots and flight attendants stamping passports as students traveled from one country to another inside the individual classrooms.

What a fun and engaging way for students to learn about different countries and cultures. Congratulations to everyone at South Valley for giving students such a rich and memorable experience!
